(Group 1) I think that the title, Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?, is in question form because noOne really knows where Connie and Arnorld Friend went, and I think it kind of left everyone guessing where they went. The Word "YOU" in the title is refering to Connie. It is a possibility that the story is dedicated to Bob Dylan because of his song "Where Are You Going Baby Blue". To other people it may seem like the main character is Connie, but I really think that the main character is Arnold friend.
(Group 2) The house seemed kind of empty so it kind of reminds me of Connies identity. Arnold Friend is a guy who is obviously older. NoOne really knows exactly who he is. He should have been named Arnold Friend, the guy is crazy. His car is very clean and unique. Its different from the other cars and the designs on the car are very artistic. He dressed decent and his language seemed very clear. I think that once Arnold Friend begin telling Connie things about her she starts to question who Arnold really is. She becomes confused and frightened because she see's Arnold as a crazy man. I guess at the time Connie's personality changed because of of strange feeling she was having. I think you can definietoy seperate Connies personality and her idenity in the story. Her identity was that she is this sad girl who wants to grow up and be popular and have everything and when she goes out away from the house she shows her personality which is outgoing and fun.
(Group 3) On Arnold Friends car in the story he has the numbers 33 19 and 17. The way he was approaching Connie and the way he was talking i thought that maybe it was the ages of the women he had done that to. On the class blog it tells us that the numbers are a chapter in the bible. I think that the aurthor didnt dispalay Connies family alot because it would have kind of changed the story and made it seem like at the time that she loved her family and it would of took the attention off connie. In the story i think Arnold takes connie to an open field and have sex with her, well thats what it looked like in the story.
(Group 4) I think the tone was always low and calm at most tmes. This story could have took place anywhere. But the aurthor set in a small town.
