Cigarrette Girl Reflection
Before i went to see cigarrette girl, my first thoughts were that it was going to be boring. A black and white film done by some idiot. Something i would probably fall asleep on. I mean after all, the preview shown in class was boring. Compared to that preview and the movie i saw at the Brooks Musuem, it was pretty good. Some of the parts of the movie was funny and yet it still contained alot of seriousness and action. It also had a mixture of suspense to it. The reason i say suspense is because alot of time in the movie, cigarrette girl had alot of illusions about the cowboy that always showed up after she had killed someone or whenever she had the urge to kill someone. The cowboy appeared and always tries to hurt her and then he would disappear. I can conclude that she must have been in an abusive relationship with this guy, her ex-lover. Maybe he could have been just an thought, and idea. I couldnt figure out who he was at first. I guess im still wondering. If i had the opportunity to, i would ask Mike McCarthy. I really did want things to turn out differently then they did at the end. Throughout the movie cigarrette girl wanted to fufill her grandmothers will and stay quit. It was very hard for her and the only thing that kept her from smoking, was killing people. I think she was finally able to stay quit and move on with her life after she left the smoking section. Overall this movie was interesting.
