My Job
I work for my step fathers daycare. The name of it is Healing Hands Christian Academy. It's located in Frayser. My mom is the director. I am a bus monitor. My job seems easy but really its not. I am to record the time a child gets on and off the bus, make sure no children are left behind on the bus, remind the driver if (s)he forgets what route we are on, and being that drivers second eyes.. I also am responsible for every child being buckled up, and help smaller children on and off the bus to keep from falling down the doorsteps. Last but not least keep the bus cleaned and the seats sanitized. Being a bus monitor is just as important as being a teacher on the inside. I like my job and i take my job serious. I am now being offered a promotion as lead teacher in the infant/toddler room. Only i would have to take night classes here at the University instead of Morning classes. Im still thinking about it.
O'Connors Short Stories
The three stories that Flannery O'Connor wrote, "A Good Man Is Hard to Find","Revelation", and "Parkers back" are all significant books. O'Connor ties the three stories in with Religion. All three books contain some type of religion or religious character. There is at least one main character in each story that is the religious one. That character is always telling the others whats right and whats wrong. Another theme O'Connor ties her stories with is Racism and/or Criticism. Each story displays the characters criticizing one another. By the stories had being written in the 60's they are attested with what was going on during that time like whites against blacks, segregation, and so on. The inequality in the stories and the verbal abuse towards the blacks. I think everything O'Connor ties in with her stories have something to do with things that are based on her background and her religion.

Flannery O'Connor Reaction
Reaction
What is the difference between a Catholic and a Southerner? A catholic is a type of faith, religion, and or denomination if you want to call it that. Southerner is a type of region like if you where from the north, you would be called a northerner. I don’t think that there is much of a big difference between the two though. Southerners have a long line of history like the importance of church. Especially by going through a lot of racial ordeals. After reading the critical analysis on Flannery O’Connor’s short stories, I felt that O’Connor being a Southerner and a Catholic had a great impact on how the stories played out and the language that was written in it.
All three of the short stories had a lot of racial acquisitions in them. Down in the south, well back in those days they were used to a lot of racial abuse. Southerners have developed that type of slang talk and grow up with it in the south. By me being a southerner myself, when I was reading O’Connors stories and I came across a racial statement I got offended. This was total honesty and I think anyone would feel different about it depending on where they were raised and how they where brought up.
One can tell that O’Connor is of the catholic faith because of the religiosity that is being portrayed in all three of the short stories. She is always talking about praying and about believing. This impacts her stories because her background and her religion play truthful roles in how the stories are being projected. It is your ethnicity and background that puts you in the position or makes you feel related to the story in general.

Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween
Halloween has never been a big scary day for me. To be honest the only thing I like about it is when we get to beg other people for candy and not even have to pay for it. Its so much better that paying for it at the candy lady. Another fun part is we you can scare the crap out of people. Let’s not forget about dressing up as any scary character we want. My mother said she wanted to be Beyonce (very scary to imagine this) but its kind of cool. Some people say Halloween is the devils night. I don’t believe that. I mean come on you get free candy. I never knew why Halloween came about, maybe I need to check more into that. If you find out let me know.
WARNING: IF YOU’RE GOING TRICK-OR-TREATING MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE CANDY FOR ANY UNKNOWN TAMPERING. OR IF ITS BEEN OPEN PRIOR TO YOU GETTING IT. SOME PEOPLE WILL TRY TO POISON YOU AND WILL IF YOU DON’T BE CAREFUL.

Living on Campus
Living on Campus
Last semester my freshman year I stayed on campus. I was pregnant at the time. So not living it up like I should. We had little meetings and we did certain floor events. I really didn’t like it or want to be involved much in the activities. I basically just wanted to get away from the house. I guess it would have been better if I wasn’t pregnant. My roommate was never there. She worked a lot and or was always sleeping when I came in the room. In my opinion, people who stay on campus are wild and do nothing but party. Every time I looked around someone was passing out a flyer to a party. I think I rather stay home. Gas is no joke these days.

Religion in School
Religion in School
Why is it that we are not allowed to have Religion, (God) in school? Why can’t we pray out loud or bring bibles?I think it’s because if they did a whole lot of riots and protesting will start. Some people are real heavy on religion. They take it very seriously and I f someone was of a different religion then they are then that person may get offended and end up saying or doing something to the other person. I think its good just allowing us to have a moment of silence and just leave it at that. That away we want have to worry about people getting offended or anything bad happening.

Fall Break
So, Im bout to go to bed from a wonderful Fall Break. I checks my email at 9:00pm and what do i see, an assignment that my teacher emailed to the class at 7:00 that night that is due the next day. I had a fit. What is the purpose of fall break? Its not like Christmas, or Thanksgiving. Is it to enjoy, get a break from school, catch up on your rest, or catch up on our work? Why do teachers give us work to do over our break? and then we have to spend time trying to get it all done. Just my opinion: I hate it, It should be for us to catch up on other work we already have, it should be for us to enjoy, to get a break from school. Teachers shouldnt give work over break especially if its last minute. How bout some extra credit?
Funerals
I dont like having to bury someone that is close to me. Over the break I went to a funeral, my parents went to a funeral, and my little sister also went to a funeral that Saturaday. It's sad, people are dying everyday 100 sometimes thousands in just months and within a year. Should Saturdays just be for funerals. Every Saturday someone is being buried. i get emotional at these funerals, it brings back the memory of me having to bury my daughter this past March. It reminds me of all the time people waste. Being mean to eachother, killing one another, hating one another. Its ridiculous. When will it stop?
My Biggest Fear
My biggest fear is of me dying, leaving this world without accomplishing anything that i am suppose to do. Not being able to fufull my purpose on this earth. Not being remembered a week after my funeral. I want to make a difference and change peoples lives. I want to change the views of the world. Im afraid that i will not conquer my fear of one day dying. I want to be able to overcome that.
A Good Man Is Hard To Find
Oh my god!!! If i only knew that the story was going to end like that. It was good overall. I remember hearing about a movie called "A Good Man Is Hard to Find". The story weas definitely interesting; it had my attention. The title would make me to think that the story will be about relationships women having problems with finding a mate but it isnt.

Peer Review Reaction
Tuesday we did peer reviews. Usually i am not comfortable with allowing other students to read, check, and judge my work. I realized tuesday that it's not all about that its about allowing your peers to give there opinion about your paper and allow them to help you. Sometimes another classmate may know more or know what they are doing more than you do. I was actually kind of glad that my classmates Kelsey and Rebecca looked over my paper. I think it really helped me. Judging by there papers i think they did way better than i and i was anxious to get some truthful feedback. In the end i think they both helped me out alot and gave me a good idea of what i need to do and changes that i need to make with my paper. So yes, it was helpful.

I know this may or may not have anything to do with literature, but Im an education major and I think Bilingual eduacation is important. Here is why. Maybe someone can give me some feedback and let me know why or why not they think it is important or not. It would help.

The "Last" Menagerie
When i first started reading this play in the first scene i stubled across the phrase Amanda was saying "We had to send some "nigger" over to bring in folding chairs from the parish house." I thought to myself, "I dont even want to read the play now. It had almost got to my spirit and then i realized this was way back and they were using the term "Nigger" which was very downgrading and offensive. But i looked over it and i kept on reading and i got interested in what i was reading. The play was going so well and then for some reason i looked to see when it was ever going to end. There were at least 8 more pages to go. I was like man, my freaking eyeballs are going to fall out, since i dont like reading that much anyway. I had to go bit by bit but i got through it. I dont ever want to do that again. Thats why im calling it The "Last" Menagerie.
English 2201 Blogs
Taking this course to me is not hard. It's just comfusing as h***. (Let me know if we cant be ourselves and type what really is crossing our minds) Sometimes i really dont understand the topics we discuss in class. It really doesnt clich in my head i guess. Am i interested?, Not really because im not into English and Literature like that. The blog post are easy now except does times i really had no clue what we were suppose to be posting and dropboxing. Now i think i have some sort of idea to what were suppose to be doing. i think that blogging is a good way for me to get familiar with the system. It allows me to ask questions and get responses from other people, and it keeps me updated on what my assignment are.
"A Street Car Named Desire"
I went to see this play October 11. It was completely sold out. Thank God i got that ticket just in time. This play by Tennessee Williams to me was kinda dramatic. The main characters where Stell and Stanley the married couple from Louisiana who stayed in a small ragedy apartment. Blanch, Stella's sister who lived on a plantation in Mississppi and Mitch, Stanleys best friend. In the play Blanch does not like her sisters husband. I dont blame her, his violent. I mean come on hitting on your pregnant wife. Overall the play was good, I liked it.

Movies
I like going to the movies. My stepday always buys those (bootlegs) which is fine, but im more interested into going out to see the movie. I like any movie that is good, action movie, horror movie, romance, drame, suspense. As long as there are good actors that star in them im good.
School
Last year i most definitely had a hard time. I was going through alot. I was pregnant and i pretty much had given up on school. I wouldnt go to class. After i had my baby, she died 4 hours later. She had no kidneys. It was hard for me but I knew that she would die. She past this last March. Ive been getting over it day by day. But i really miss her. Now im just looking forward to my future and pressing on. School for me now is going easy so far, Im not frustrated (as much). I try to keep myself busy.
