A worn path

A WORN PATH
1. WHAT POINT OF VIEW IS USED IN THE STORY? EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWER.
The story is told in the third person point of view.
2. WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE OLD WOMAN BEING NAMED PHOENIX?
The name doesn’t fit her
3. WELTY PRESENTS PHOENIX;S DREAMS AND HALLUCINATIONS AS IF THEYR WERE AS REAL AS EVERYTHING ELSE SHE ENCOUNTERS. WHAT DOES THIS TECHNIQUE CONTRIBUTE TO THE STORYS EFFECT?
By using the technique readers are able to put themselves in the same position and make it more real
4. HOW WOULD YOU CHARACTERIZE THE WAY PHONEX IS VIEWED AND TREATED BY THE WHIT PEOPLE SHE MEETS? DOES THEIR BEHAVIOR TOWARD HER GIVE YOU ANY INDICATION OF WHERE THE STORY IS SET AND WHEN IT TAKES PLACE
The white people treated her fair and nice because of her old age. The behavior show you when the story took place because of the behavior of the white people.
5. IN PARAGRAPH 52, PHOENIX LAUGHS AT THE BLACK DOG “AS IN ADMIRATION” WHAT DOES THE ATTIRUDE TELL US ABOUT HER?
The dog doesn’t bug. She laughs about it, she praises the fearlessness of the dog which shows that she is just like the dog.
6. WITH HER HANDS ON HER KNEWW, THE OLD WOMAN WAITED, SILENT, ERECT MOTIONLESS, JUST AS IF SHE WERE IN ARMOR. IS THE COMPARISON AR THE END TO THIS SENTENCE JUST A STRIKING VISUAL IMAGE, OR DOES IT HAVE A LARGER REVELANCE?
I think it means more. The way it is described in the story shows her position as a woman. She is fearless, putting on the whole armor. Not afraid. How stable she is.
